Meet Gerald

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of holding key leadership positions, including serving as Vice President and President of AFSCME Local 1128, Vice President of the Taylor School Board, President of the Board for Taylor Exemplar Academy, and 21 years as a member of the Board of Directors for Total Community Credit Union. I currently serve on the TIFA/Brownfield Authority, working to enhance development and reinvestment in our community.

Volunteerism has always been at the heart of my service. Giving back is not just an obligation; it is the foundation of a strong and thriving community.

Whether serving in public safety, education, or local government, I have seen firsthand how dedicated individuals can make a lasting impact. This commitment to service has shaped my leadership and will continue to guide me as I work to make Taylor an even better place for all.

My professional background includes service as a Taylor Auxiliary Police Officer, Taylor Auxiliary Firefighter, and as the city’s Deputy Treasurer.

I’ve also worked in many city departments, giving me a well-rounded understanding of how our local government functions and what it takes to deliver results for our residents.

These experiences have given me unique insight into our city's challenges and the solutions we need to keep moving forward. I am ready to hit the ground running on day one.

If elected, I will focus on:

  • Keeping our community safe.

  • Improving infrastructure that benefits all residents.

  • Creating pedestrian-friendly spaces that enhance the quality of life.

  • Ensuring that residents continue to receive high-quality services.

Before I take any vote, it must pass these three standards:

  1. Does it make Taylor safer?

  2. Does it make Taylor stronger?

  3. Does it make Taylor more prosperous?

Taylor is a remarkable place to live, work, and raise a family. And I am committed to building on our city’s successes and helping to ensure our best days are yet to come.
